My idea for this blog actually began in a dressing room at a local Kohl's store. My beautiful daughter (who will be 5 in October) had some straightforward things to say while I was trying on clothes. I just could not help but laugh, and honestly I wanted to continue trying on (despite the horror of nothing fitting) just so she would keep talking. She is not a shy girl in the least. She is very strong, very open, very caring, and very funny. She is very much like her daddy! Most days you can finder her in a dress up gown and "clanky shoes" (plastic high heels) toting a baby doll or stuffed animal. Generally she is singing, especially if she is alone, and frequently to her baby brother. Not your regular lullabies, but phrases more like "who made my baby cry, who made my baby cry. My baby cry, my baby cry, my baby cry." I'm sure as she gets older the lyrics will expand, but for now it is one phrase repeated in different rhythms. Her long, medium brown hair was recently cut (since the addition of gum one night while sleeping) and is now a bob. She has sparkling blue eyes and freckles across her nose and cheeks. She carries an ornery grin with her most of the time and loves to dance!
Now that there is a little back ground I can get back to the question. A towel, a personal trainer, or Sonic (the hedge hog)? I was laying on the bed my two oldest boys sitting next to me, the baby nursing, and B at my feet in her purple and gold dress up gown holding a beaded Tinker Bell wand over me. Abra-Cadabra, would you like to be a towel, a personal trainer, or Sonic? I was shocked I actually had a choice, but then I wasn't sure which one to choose. My initial response was personal trainer. My logic was if I was a personal trainer I would not be in condition I am in physically. I would be fit, and I would be able to wear those clothes that I tried on in the dressing room. Life would be great! Then I figured that there had to be some sort of catch to that right? So I reviewed the other options. A towel. Useful. Can be washed, reused, can be many colors. It can also stain, is stepped on, sometimes left wet, and wadded up to grow mold and mildew. Can get stinky, get left outside, on the basement floor, under a bed. Yeah, I'm pretty sure towel was out of the question. (Especially any towel in this house! My housekeeping and laundry skills are not the best! I can do them just not frequently!) And finally Sonic (the hedge hog.) I don't know much about him. He's blue. Personal Trainer it is!! I will let you know how it goes. So far my only client (my oldest son) was very angry about the family walk we took last night! It was "stupid" and "hot" and he was going to be "sick." I just told him that Jillian Michaels has 400 pound men to RUNNING, you are a 90 pound BOY...I'm sure you can walk!
